Mystery of Black dolls

From Unsolved mystery - In Japan, there was a single mother who lived alone with her new-born baby. She was not able to work and she had no living relatives and no friends to help her, so she found it very difficult to cope on her own.

One day, the mother went out shopping for groceries and left her baby at home alone. On the way home, she met with an accident and was killed. She was not carrying and identification at the time and the police were unable to figure out who she was. Nobody came forward to claim her body, so she was buried in an unmarked grave. She had no living relatives, which meant that nobody noticed her disappearance.

Two months later, the dead mother’s landlord noticed that he hadn’t recieved any rent from her. He visited her house and knocked on the door. When nobody answered, he opened the front door using his duplicate key. He went inside and found the house was in complete darkness. The electricity had been cut off.

He walked around in the dark, going from room to room. All of the woman’s furniture and clothing was still there. In the bedroom, he found a black doll lying in the middle of the floor. “She must have left in a hurry”, he said to himself. “She didn’t take anything with her.”

Then he heard a rustling noise. It was coming from the black doll. He bent down to pick it up, but the moment he touched it, the doll crumbled apart in his hands. Hundreds of cockroaches scurried away and all that was left was the skeleton of a baby.

Dolls on the walls

 http://www.emd.pl/muzyka/z/zorn_john/jzch_2.jpg

Unsolved mystery - Since i can remember, this is the yuckiest doll story i have ever heard.

Her name was cathy, she had a doll. long blonde hair, she stood 9 inches tall. one day cathy was playing with her friend, as they were chatting, and ranting about her doll again.

the doll itself was hard to turn, within a mirror, it looked charred and burned. little cathy still loved to play, although her parents threw the doll away.

years went by, cathy grew. the loss of her doll was nothing new. her 18th birthday, with no cares, she tripped her mother down the stairs.

she took her daddys one last breath, and shook a knife up at his death. cathy killed them, they had to fall, she did it for her long lost doll.

next the cravings came to her, to make mommy and daddys brains dessert. she hoysted them up, with nails and a hook, deceased dolls on the walls, ready to cook.

she played with them first, as if still alive, then engaged in her thirst, drinking blood that had died. as this did just happen, the phone started to ring, cathy picked it up abrupt, a voice started to sing.

it was her beloved doll of old, right there on the telephone... the room started getting cold, cathys skin a greenish overtone. the doll demanded that she cut her own wrists, cathy repromanded, but "it is you that started this".

the phone just went blank, as did cathys stare, next the front door was cranked, right up in the air. there stood the doll, so delightful to cathy. it made its way closer, as it started its slashing.

cathy screamed out,"but i love you so", the doll then gleemed about, "ive come for your soul". she looked at her parents, and realized what she had done. but it was far too late, bloodfilled tears had over-run.

...the doll still lives, and strives when you want it to, but never re-tell the story...as cathy is waiting, watching, and wanting a new doll like you...

This pledge was rarely practiced in a manner different from, for example, actors do not swear but only dikerudungi dipocongi shroud with a sitting position.

Pocong oath is usually done by followers of Islam and is equipped with a witness and do in the house of worship (mosques). In Islamic law does not actually exist oath wearing a shroud like this. This pledge is a local tradition that is still thick to apply customary norms. Oath was conducted to prove the allegations or cases that have little or no evidence at all. Consequently, if the untrue statement or promise, that oath is believed to be a punishment or curse from God.

Pulpit Pledge
In the Indonesian court system, known as the oath was sworn pulpit and is one which is run by a court of proof in civil matters examined, although pocong own form of oath is not regulated in the Civil Code and Civil Procedure. Oath of the pulpit was born because of a dispute between a person as a plaintiff against another person as a defendant, usually in the form of struggles over inheritance, land rights, debts, and so forth.

In a civil case there is some reasonable level of evidence presented, the first and second letter is proof of evidence witnesses. There are times when both sides is difficult to provide such evidence, such as about heritage, down-temurunnya property, or debts that the deceased parent made between the two sides a few decades ago. When this happens the third evidence is the evidence put forward by examining the presupposition that sequence of events in the past. This evidence is somewhat prone to do. If the three kinds of evidence is still not enough for the judge to decide a case, the requested evidence is the recognition fourth. Because it is the most recent, the oath was to be the only tool to decide the dispute. So the oath they provide immediate impact to the termination by the judge.

Oath Pocong: Psychological Encouragement

By using the tool decisoir oath, judge's decision will be solely dependent on sound speakers swear an oath and courage. In order to obtain the essential truth, because a decision based solely on the sound of the oath, the oath was associated with pocong oath. Pocong oath made to provide a psychological boost to the speakers oath not to lie.

I swear to God

Once set the day to take an oath, the offender will be brought to the front of the pulpit who embraced religious house of worship. After purification, in front of the pulpit he would like someone died diupacarakan, accompanied by prayers. Before a kyai and surrounded by the witnesses which consists of all assemblies, clerks, defense lawyers, the clergy, he took the oath of judges whose contents result justifies the formulation of a lawsuit or sangkalannya. After the ceremony will be made an official report by the clerk of the court, assembly, and the judge who witnessed, which explains everything about the execution of the oath.

Soon the news event that has received the court being processed to formulate a decision. By proving using the pulpit who dare swear oath is a win.

Ghost of Grace Brown

From unsolved mystery story :
Does a century old murder victim haunt a resort in upstate New York?

Grace Brown

The boat was found overturned
CASE DETAILS
For generations, the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York have been a favorite vacation spot for the famous and the infamous.  One summer night in 1988, several employees of the Covewood Lodge on Big Moose Lake, including Rhonda Bousselot, were approaching the staff lodge.  Rhonda led the pack, unaware that someone, or something, might be waiting inside:
“I walked into the staff lodge, straight up the stairs with my hand out, reaching for the string, which is how to turn on the light.  As I approached the top of the stairs and just before I was ready to turn on the light, a feeling came over me that somebody was right there.  More or less, I stopped in my tracks and really just didn't move.  I didn't have an overwhelming feeling of fright, but something definitely or someone was there, and it just kind of took my breath away.”

Grace’s ghost haunts the lake
But the real show was outside. According to Rhonda, her friends were witnessing a spine-tingling vision:
“All three of them had the same exact story.  It lingered for just a few seconds, and then moved away. All three of them saw the ghost.  I didn't see anything myself, but I felt that somebody was right there, and it was just a strange feeling.”
But who is haunting Big Moose Lake? People there believe it is the ghost of the young and beautiful Grace Brown.  In 1906, her brutal murder shocked the nation.  Decades later, Hollywood turned the notorious case into a hit film, “A Place in the Sun.” Hollywood portrayed Grace as an unattractive nag.  But in truth, Grace Brown was a naive, lovely 19-year-old who worked at the Gillette skirt factory in Cortland, New York.  It was there, in 1905, that she met the handsome and charming Chester Gillette, the factory owner's nephew.
Author Craig Brandon has written about the infamous Grace Brown murder:
“Chester Gillette was considered quite a catch by the people in town because he was popular and he was athletic and he was handsome.  I'm sure a lot of women in Cortland were interested in him.”

Chester Gillette was convicted of Grace’s murder
From the start, it was a scandalous romance.  According to Craig Brandon, Chester convinced Grace to see him without a chaperone which, in those days, put her reputation at risk:
“I think she saw him as the ideal person, that he was everything that she wanted.  She was in love probably for the first time in her life, and she wanted to see this through no matter what.”
For Chester, it was a secret affair.  He never took Grace out in public.  He never acknowledged their relationship.  According to Craig Brandon, Chester was frequently seen with other young women, especially those from the town's wealthier families:
“Her friends were warning her that he wasn't what he seemed to be, that he was something different, and I think that she had no experience with that type of person.  And so she was seeing what she wanted to see rather than what her friends were telling her.”
But Grace could not resist Chester and she soon discovered she was pregnant.  At the time, unwed mothers were outcasts.  Grace begged Chester to marry her, but he stalled as long as he could.  Finally, in July, 1906, Chester took Grace to the Adirondacks.  She assumed it was a wedding trip.  According to Craig Brandon, they rented a rowboat at Big Moose Lake from a man named Robert Morrison:
“Morrison expected them to come back around dinnertime.  And when they didn't come back, he thought that was somewhat suspicious.”
The next morning, Morrison organized a search party.  The rowboat had capsized.  A short distance from it, they found Grace’s body.  Two days later, police found Chester Gillette in a nearby hotel.  At first, he denied even knowing Grace Brown.  Then, he claimed Grace had drowned herself in despair because he didn’t love her anymore.  Few believed him.  He was tried and convicted of first degree murder.  On March 30, 1908, Chester Gillette died in the electric chair.  Had justice been served?  Apparently not enough to satisfy the restless spirit of Grace Brown.
Lynda Lee Macken had her own encounter with Grace Brown a few months after Rhonda Bousselot’s:
“I was walking down toward the lake with my flashlight and the light was getting dimmer and dimmer.  By the time I got to the edge of the lake and the rocks, my flashlight wasn't working.  So I had to turn around and go back… I was awestruck, and not only was I certain that I was looking at a ghost, but I had a very strong feeling of sadness.  She was very sad.”
Was it the ghost of Grace Brown?  Over the years, there have been continual sightings.  And many wonder if her spirit has been trapped at Big Moose Lake since the day she was drowned by her faithless lover.

Sun-like star may harbor alien life

unsolvedmystery- Our solar system is rather unique. It is a spinning disk with the sun in the center, of which is surrounded by four terrestrial - or rocky - planets, an asteroid belt, four gas giants and five dwarf planets. Many other star systems have been discovered, but many just don’t fit the bill for likeness to our own. For one, many of these systems have Hot Jupiters, inner planets the size of - and sometimes larger than - the planet Jupiter.

To occasionally break the rule, scientists have discovered a new star called HP 56948. HP 56948 is remarkably similar to our own sun. It has relatively the same mass as our sun and, as well, it is a G2V (yellow dwarf) sharing chemical composition and temperatures with our sun. It also has planets revolving around it.

However, sharing characteristics with our own sun doesn’t say that the HP 56948 system has planets similar to our Earth that can support life. Many Hot Jupiters revolve around a star very similar to our star (like 51 Pegasi b, also called Bellerophon). Here’s where it gets interesting, though: astronomers have not detected a short-period wobble on HP 56948, meaning that no Hot Jupiter would be that close to the star (If otherwise, its gigantic size would influence its sun to create a wobble).

If there were no (or at least not many) Hot Jupiters revolving around HP 56948, then could there be terrestrial planets? Perhaps even some in the “Goldilocks zone“? The chemical composition of the star suggests so. It has an amount of silicon, magnesium, aluminum and calcium similar to our sun, elements of which are usually found in asteroids, rocky planets and interplanetary dust.

Could HP 56948 have inner system planets similar to our own and beloved planet? If so, could there be intelligent life on one of them? Could this star have formed around the same time as our sun? If so, it would give extraterrestrials the same amount of time as us to evolve. Perhaps they even have evolved to be an intelligent civilization.

HP 56948 is just one of many new exoplanets that possibly hosts life out there and it is a beneficial contribution to astrology and possibly the future of astrobiology.

The Unexplained Mystery Of The Alien Structure On The Far Side Of The Moon

Unsolved Mystery: Is there an extraterrestrial structure on the far side of the moon? That is the controversial question that many are now asking. This website, Mysteries Of The World, does not claim to have all the answers. But we are not afraid to ask the hard questions. The video posted below, if true, is quite shocking. But as always, we must temper our enthusiasm with the reality that it is just so easy to fake things these days. There are a whole lot of rumors and claims about the far side of the moon, but it just seems to difficult to substantiate them. With that being said, the video below is definitely eyebrow raising. If there is evidence of extraterrestrial architecture on the far side of the moon that would have huge implications for the history of the solar system.
So just what does the video posted below show?
It contains pictures of the far side of the Moon around the rim of the Zeeman Crater. Pictures from the 1960s taken by the Lunar Orbiter Program are compared to pictures from today.
The pictures from the 1960s appear to show a very unusual structure on the far side of the Moon, but the pictures from today show no trace of it.
So exactly what is going on here?
Is this evidence of a coverup?
Is the discrepancy the result of a technical glitch?
Is someone hoaxing us?
After watching the video please feel free to leave a comment with your opinion....

The Ghost Horse appear in Egypt

Unsolved mystery: One of the greatest mysteries from this past year was the "ghost horse" that appeared in Tahrir Square during the Egyptian revolution.  One night while the protests in Egypt were in full swing, news footage captured an image of what seemed to be a ghost horse and rider galloping though the streets.  At the end of the video footage, the ghost horse rides off into the sky and disappears.  The video footage was so weird and so strange that it quickly attracted millions of views on YouTube.  So did a ghost horse really appear during the riots in Egypt?  If so, is this some kind of a "sign" to the rest of us?  Should we all be on the lookout for more paranormal phenomena at protests in the future?  Or is all of this just a giant hoax?  Well, some people out there have come up with some possible explanations, and 7 of the most popular explanations follow....
#1 The Fourth Horseman Of The Apocalypse Theory
Revelation 6:8 says the following....
“I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him."
Since the ghost horse of Egypt appeared to be pale green, this has caused many Christians to compare it to the pale horse of the book of Revelation.
But to me, that seems to be quite unlikely.  The truth is that we are not at that point on the Biblical timeline yet.
#2 The Angel Theory
Some out there are speculating that the ghost horse of Egypt could have been an angel that was looking after the protesters.
#3 The Demon Theory
Others are speculating that the ghost horse of Egypt actually might have been a demon that was stirring up trouble on the streets of Tahrir Square.
#4 An Egyptian Ghost From The Distant Past
Some of those that believe in ghosts say that the ghost horse of Egypt could have been a warrior ghost from the distant past that was stirred up by the violence in Tahrir Square.
#5 The Reflection Theory
There have been some that have tried to explain this whole thing away as just a reflection.  You can see one unconvincing video promoting this theory right here.
#6 The Computer Generated Theory
There are some that believe that this ghost horse was computer generated and was purposely put into the news footage.  But so far proponents of this theory have had a hard time explaining why anyone would want to do such a thing.
#7 The "Imagining Things" Theory
Some people have suggested that we are just imagining things and that there is no ghost horse there at all.  Instead, they believe that we are just misinterpreting a lens flare or a computer glitch.
Watch the video of the Egyptian ghost horse below and decide for yourself.  The good part starts at about the 1:20 mark of the video....
So what do you think?
Unfortunately, this will probably remain one of the greatest unsolved mystery for quite some time.
But that doesn't mean that we all can't have an opinion.  Do you believe that the ghost horse was real?  Do you believe that it was fake?  Please feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts below....

Giant Footprints

Did giants once roam the earth?  Most people are absolutely astounded to learn that, yes, there is a tremendous amount of evidence that giants once existed on this planet.  Sadly, most of this evidence has been suppressed by the "scientific community" because it does not fit in with the evolutionary narrative that we are all supposed to believe.  Any evidence that emerges that threatens the theory of evolution (especially if it supports the Bible) is rapidly "reinterpreted", hushed up or brushed under the rug.  The reality is that most members of the "scientific community" will simply not even consider any evidence that giants once existed because according to them it "can't" possibly be true.  Their preconceptions make it impossible for them to consider evidence that is staring them right in the face.  In the rest of this article we will discuss some of the giant footprints that have been found and much of the other evidence for giants that has been found all over the earth.  Try to keep an open mind as you view this evidence.
Let's start with Goliath’s Footprint in South Africa.  A picture of Goliath's Footprint can be seen at the top of this article.  This giant footprint is located near the town of Mpaluzi, close to the Swaziland border.  It is approximately four feet long and it is starting to get a lot more publicity around the globe.
The following is video of this amazing footprint.  If you look carefully, you can even see that there were five toes and that the big toe was the largest of the toes.  This video is absolutely amazing....
Evolutionary scientists say that this footprint is somewhere between 200 million and 3 billion years old.
Of course that is complete and total hogwash, but it does lead to an interesting point.
Over the years, a whole host of "human footprints" have been found in rock layers that are supposed to be millions upon millions of years old.
For example, the following comes from an article about the discovery of 70 human footprints in a rock layer that was "supposed" to be 3.6 million years old....
In 1976 famed anthropologist Mary Leaky discovered 70 human footprints in stone in Tanzania known as the Laetoli tracks. Leaky felt they looked like they were made by modern human beings, but that created a problem. The depressions left by our ancestors were in a stratum dated at 3.6 million years. No modern human could have laid down that track since we were not around yet according to evolution.
Since humans were not supposed to have been around back then, obviously that creates a huge problem for evolutionary scientists.
Instead of letting the evidence lead them to conclusions, they take their preconceived theories and try to force the evidence to fit into them.
Getting back to giant footprints, most people simply do realize that they have even been found inside the United States.
For example, the following comes from an article that appeared in the Hayward Semi-Weekly on September 29th 1925....
The footprint, thought to be of prehistoric origin, discovered by James Higgins high on the rock formations of Bushy Peak, is claimed to be duplicated in at least two other spots in Washington Township.
Pioneer residents claim a “footprint” similar to the description given by Higgins of the one on Bushy Peak, only of greater size can be seen on the John Bunting ranch near the Mission San Jose.
This footprint measures nearly eight feet in its length. It is said, and is very deeply embedded In solid rock.
The third mysterious foot mark is said to hare been seen on the Indian Reservation, near the Pleasant Valley road, between Sunol and Pleasanton. This foot-print, like the others, is of immense size and deeply marked on a granite cliff.
This next example comes from an article that appeared in the Oakland Tribune on October 6th, 1926....
The discovery by Professor George D. Louderback of the University of California of depressions resembling the footprints of prehistoric man and animals on a cliff near San Jose about five feet in length, are to present an absolutely new problem to anthropologists.
The prints tally somewhat with similar impressions found at Livermore some months ago, according to Professor Louderback, with the exception that the Livermore finds were about ten feet in length.
In the early part of the 20th century there were even reports of fossilized giants being found in America.  For example, the following comes from an article that appeared in the Postville Herald on November 7th, 1919....
The fossilized remains of a giant measuring 32 feet 10 Inches in height were, according to a report recently discovered by workmen near the little village of Nanacamilpa, State of Vera Cruz.
The natives, who still cling to many of the traditions of their Indian ancestors, declared the giant was related to the gods of their forefathers.
They erected a catafalque in the plaza on which the giant rested in state for many days, covered with flowers and at night carefully guarded. The discovery attracted the attention of scientists here. Manuel Ganomo director of anthropology at the National museum, expects to leave soon for Nanacamilpa to investigate.
So why have most of us never heard of these things before?
Why does the scientific community continue to insist that giants are a fairytale?
Even as late as the 1960s, giant footprints were being discovered in America.  The following comes from an article posted on the website of Bibleland Studios....
In the late 60’s C.N. Doughtery (co-author of Valley of the Giants) moved to the Glen Rose area and began to hear the same stories of the tracks. But these stories included large man tracks. In their book he explains that when asking the locals how big the human tracks were they would slowly spread their hands apart till about the 18-24 inch mark.
Could man once have been 12 feet tall?
Doughtery walked the river month after month waiting for the right conditions to spot these alleged goliath sized impressions. Two years later his efforts paid off and spotted not one but two giant men tracks. The prints measured 21 and one half inches long and 8 inches across the toes with a seven foot stride from heal to heal. Go ahead and measure across your toes and see what do you get. I have a size 12 EEE foot and it is 4 inches across by 11 inches long. I’m 6’2” tall and my stride from heal to heal is a little over 2 feet with a normal walking gate. If you do the math you will see that a man with 22 inch feet and a 7-foot step would be approximately 12 foot tall!
Some amazing discoveries have been made in other countries as well.  A little over 100 years ago an entire fossilized giant was supposedly found in Ireland.  The following comes from an article about giants on another website....
An article from Strand magazine (December,1895) reprinted in "Traces of the Elder Faiths of Ireland" by W.G. Wood-Martin mentions this fossilized giant discovered during mining operations in County Antrim, Ireland: "Pre-eminent among the most extraordinary articles ever held by a railway company is the fossilized Irish giant, which is at this moment lying at the London and North-Western Railway Company's Broad street goods depot, and a photograph of which is reproduced here. . . This monstrous figure is reputed to have been dug up by a Mr. Dyer whilst prospecting for iron ore in County Antrim. The principal measurements are: entire length, 12ft. 2in.; girth of chest, 6ft. 6in.; and length of arms, 4ft. 6in. There are six toes on the right foot. The gross weight is 2 tons 15cwt.; so that it took half a dozen men and a powerful crane to place this article of lost property in position for the Strand magazine artist. Dyer, after showing the giant in Dublin, came to England with his queer find and exhibited it in Liverpool and Manchester at sixpence, sixpence a head, attracting scientific men as well as gaping sightseers".
Posted below is a picture which is supposed to be of this fossilized giant....
But the evidence for giants is not limited to old discoveries.  As I have written about previously, evidence of giants continues to be found in many areas of the globe.
The photos posted below are of bones from a "giant man" that was discovered near the city of Borjomi, Georgia (not the Georgia in the U.S.) in 1998.  It has been estimated that the "giant man" was about 9 to 10 feet tall and that the skull was about 3 times the size of a normal human skull.
Steve Quayle recently posted these pictures to make a point.  The "accepted version of history" that we all have been taught just does not add up.  There was a whole lot more going on in the ancient world than we were ever allowed to learn.  There are great mysteries about our past that are just now starting to be revealed.
In his recent report, Quayle also mentions a number of other "giant skeleton" discoveries that have been made in Georgia over the last century....
The finding of giants in the Caucasus mountains is nothing new. A Four-meter human skeleton was found by two amateur archaeologist in Georgia near the village of Udabno in the summer of the year 2000, and skeletons of giants were also found at a cave near Gora Kazbek, Georgia in the 1920's, not to mention the discoveries by Soviet scientists in the 1950's.
The truth is that there is abundant evidence of ancient giants all over the globe.  The amazing ruins at Baalbek are just one prominent example.  But most people won't even allow themselves to consider the evidence because it is just "too bizarre".
But all of this does fit in very well with what we find in the Scriptures.  In the Bible, it tells us that giants lived on earth in the days before the Flood.
Genesis 6:4 says this.....
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
The ancient book of Enoch, which is quoted in the Biblical book of Jude, also claims that giants once existed on earth. In Enoch 6:1-3, it tells us that fallen angels came down to earth, took wives and had children with them....
And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto them beautiful and comely daughters. And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: 'Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men and beget us children.'
For much more on what the Bible has to say about these giants, please see the following article: "The Truth About UFOs And Aliens"
And for much more information about evidence for giants all over the world, check out this information that Steve Quayle has gathered.
So what do all of you think about this evidence that giants once lived on this earth?

Finger Of A Giant Found In Egypt

Unsolved mystery.- amazing that the first words I say when I read this article.
A 15 inch long human finger has been found in Egypt and pictures of it are being released for the very first time.  BILD.de broke this story, and it is spreading like fire all over the Internet.  According to BILD.de, the pictures of this finger were taken by a researcher named Gregor Spörri in Egypt in 1988.  The mummified finger would be considered to be human except for the fact that it is way, way too large to have come from a human hand.  As mentioned earlier, the giant finger is 15 inches long.  It is projected that the person that this finger came from would have been more than 16 feet tall!  You can see more pictures of this amazing find on BILD.de.  As you can tell from the picture above, the fingernail is clearly visible.  This truly is a remarkable specimen.  So is this really a finger of a giant that once lived in Egypt?

Unfortunately, this finger is not housed in a museum in Egypt.  The researcher that took the pictures reportedly had to pay "an old man from a grave robber dynasty" 300 dollars to see it and take pictures of it.

So unfortunately this discovery cannot be independently verified at this time.  Hopefully all of this publicity will flush this finger back out into the public so that authorities can examine it.  This is potentially an incredibly important part of our history and it would be a shame if these photos are the only evidence we ever get to see of it.

But when it comes to giants, we already know that there is so much other evidence out there.  Recently I wrote about the Nephilim mummy that was found in Peru and about the giant footprints and giant skeletons that have been found all over the world.

But a mummified human finger from a giant in Egypt would be absolutely mind blowing.  It would be a direct challenge to everything that is commonly accepted about the ancient history of Egypt.

Hopefully all of this will spur more digs and more research.  The era when the Great Pyramid was constructed is an era that is shrouded in great mystery.  Humanity is only now developing technology that would allow us to construct a similar structure today.  Nobody really knows for sure who built the Great Pyramid or how it was constructed.

There is just so much about ancient Egypt that we simply do not know.  Hopefully the floodgates will open and much more evidence will emerge soon.

Top 10 Famous Real Ghosts

Unsolved mystery.-Winter is a wonderful time for a good ghost story. In the long hours of dark and the twinkling lights of the holiday season, it is all too easy to imagine more shadows than there ought to be. The most spine tingling stories, though, are the ones sworn to be true. The following list is of these sorts of ghosts: Specific apparitions, witnessed by several people at different times in the same place. The more witnesses, the more respected the witnesses, the better. Whether you believe in ghosts or not, these stories capture the imagination.

Kate Morgan
Hotel del Coronado
Hotel-Del-Coronado-Beach-Cropped
The Hotel del Coronado is a stunning Victorian beachfront resort hotel in the very southern California city of Coronado, just south of San Diego. It was only four years open when a beautiful young woman named Kate Morgan checked in on November 24th, 1892. She was apparently very ill for the time she spent at the hotel, and it was later speculated she had taken a large dose of quinine in an effort to induce miscarriage of an unwanted child. That she was distraught there was little argument, so when she was found on the outside steps leading to the beach on November 29th, with a single bullet hole in her temple and a gun nearby, the death was quickly ruled a suicide. From that point on, strange phenomena have been reported at the hotel: strange noises, lights flickering on and off, and even the occasional ghostly woman in Victorian garb wandering the halls.
It is worth noting during my research on this story that the particular room number where most of the phenomena is witnessed varies from account to account. Whether because the accounts are second hand (and many of them are), or whether there is confusion due to the changing of the room number over the years as the hotel has expanded, I cannot say.

Ghosts of the Stanley Hotel
Stanleyhotel
If you where staying at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado and turned to channel 42 of your guest-room television, you would be watching one of my all-time favorite movies: The Shining. Doesn’t matter what time of day or night, or year for that matter, it is always on. That’s not supernatural, of course- merely a nod to their role as the inspiration for Stephen King’s novel. Employees report hearing the commotion of a great party in the grand ballroom when there is no one there. Children can be heard playing in the halls when there are no children at all, and many guests have reported seeing ghostly figures in their rooms at night, merely standing, watching. The fourth floor seems to be host to the most amount of activity, and there is one ghost in particular, purportedly Lord Dunraven, the previous owner of the land the property was built on, who can be seen standing over the bed or looking out the window of room 407. He is widely blamed for any jewelry or valuables that have gone missing in the hotel over the years.

The Brown Lady
Raynham Hall
Brown Lady Lg
Raynham Hall in Norfolk, England, is home to the subject of one of the most famous ghost photos ever captured, the Brown Lady is named so because she appears in a rich brocade brown dress. She is widely believed to be Lady Dorothy Walpole, sister of Sir Robert Walpole, who married Charles, 2nd Viscount Townshend in 1713. She died under mysterious circumstances in 1726, and sightings of her began shortly after. Though reports of sightings have waned dramatically since the photo was taken in 1936, sightings before then had been reported by some fairly reputable sources. My favorite account is from a Major Loftus, who was staying at Raynham Hall in 1849. Retiring to bed one night, he and a friend named Hawkins observed a woman in brown brocade who vanished as Major Loftus approached her. Determined to confront the apparition, the next night he returned to she same spot and saw her again. He was horrified to see however, that when he looked into her face he saw only two black sockets where her eyes should have been. Unsettling to say the least!
7
Clifton Hall
Clifton
If you have a spare £2.75 million laying around, you can be the proud owner of Clifton Hall in Nottinghamshire, England. The property was noted as far back as the 11th century, and was in the hands of the Clifton family from the 13th century until its sale in 1958. From there it became a school, then another school, then another school , then a planned set of luxury apartments, before finally settling as a private residence most recently belonging to a mister Anwar Rashid, his wife, and their four children. It boasts 17 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, 10 reception rooms, a private gym and a cinema. Oh, and a few ghosts, of course. The Rashid family experienced unsettling phenomena their very first night in the home, in the form of a knocking sound and a man’s voice calling “Hello, is anyone there?” In one incident, Anwar’s wife, Nabila, went downstairs to prepare some milk for their 18 month old son at five o’clock in the morning and observed her eldest daughter sat in front of the television. When calling out to her gave no answer, Nabila got a strange feeling and went back upstairs to her daughter’s room, where the eldest was found still fast asleep in her bed. The Rashids fled the house after 8 months of putting up with the hauntings. Though their accounts are the most recent and easiest to find during research, there had been rumors and sightings on the property for as long as anyone could remember, including babies crying and a woman who could be seen through a window pacing in a room that had been bricked up and inaccessible.

The White Lady
Balete Drive
0
Oh, the ghosts of the Philippines! A Lady in White is undoubtedly the most common type of ghost anywhere in the world, and joins a laundry list of spirits in the Philippines for this story. I will say in research I have come across two accounts from locals of Quezon City, Philippines that say this is just a hoax, but I will stick with the majority opinion that there is something there. Believers report a woman in white with long black hair and her face either completely blank or obscured by blood standing in the middle of the road on Balete Drive. It is said you should avoid driving there at night – but if you do, make sure your back seat is full of passengers. Apparently it is in empty back seats that the White Lady will hitch a ride, spotted by the unfortunate driver in their rear view after they experience a dreadful ominous feeling.

Chloe and The Myrtles Plantation
Myrtles-Plantation-Ghost-Picture-Chloe-832-532X337-1
Legend has it Chloe was a slave in the house of the Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana who had a bad habit of listening at keyholes to the goings on of the residents. Caught one day in the act by the Master of the house, he lopped off her ear as punishment, forcing her to wear a green scarf over her head to cover the wound. As punishment, she baked a cake with oleander leaves, a common plant in the south that is immensely poisonous. Though the master of the house was her target, her victims became his wife and two daughters, who died in agony a couple days after eating the cake. Chloe fled the house and was lynched by field slaves on the plantation for the wicked light she cast on the rest of them.
Fortunately or no, there is no historical evidence to back up this story, just an intriguing photo. True or not (probably not), there are certainly plenty of other ghosts to keep you company, including a young girl frequently spotted in a mirror on the stairs, and another young girl who chants voodoo over people who dare to sleep in her room. The Myrtles is currently a Bed and Breakfast that gives regular tours to those curious enough to want to see the house- just not alone after dark.

Resurrection Mary
Imag002.Jpg
Traveling northeast on Archer Lane between the Willowbrook Ballroom and Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois, young men might find themselves tempted to pick up a young woman hitchhiking on the side of the road. She has light blond hair and blue eyes, is wearing a white party dress, and has been dead since the 1930’s. If you pick her up, she will stop you in front of Resurrection cemetery and vanish from the car. She is a classic example of the vanishing hitchhiker legend, a type of ghost story that has been around for at least a few hundred years. What makes this one so distinctive is the consistency of the story- the girl looks the same, wears the same dress, disappears in the same spot. Also worth noting stories of this particular hitchhiker popped up suddenly in the mid thirties and have been going strong ever since, and not just for those in the know. An account from 1973 sees a cab driver inquiring at Chet’s Melody Lounge across the street from the cemetery about a girl who fled his cab without paying her fare. Only his description of her sounded mighty familiar to the customers: Resurrection Mary had struck again!

The Flying Dutchman
The-Flying-Dutchman
It was 1641 when Captain Hendrik van der Decken swore he would round the Cape of Good Hope if it took him till doomsday. At his current rate, it probably will. The captain’s ship, known as The Flying Dutchman, has been seen frequently around the area, a phantom ship often so close the witnesses would swear it was on a crash course for their ship, only to see it vanish before them. It is always viewed as a bad omen to see the ship. Such a sighting was witnessed by the future King George V of England in 1881. He wrote: “At 4 a.m. the Flying Dutchman crossed our bows. A strange red light as of a phantom ship all aglow, in the midst of which light the masts, spars, and sails of a brig 200 yards distant stood out in strong relief as she came up on the port bow”. Later that morning, the sailor who originally spotted the vessel fell to his death.

Abraham Lincoln
Galler12
Legend has it Lincoln saw his fate before he was assassinated. He reported a dream to his cabinet in which he wandered into a funeral at the white house, and when he inquired of one of the mourners who had died, the man responded “The President… he was killed by an assassin.”
Lincoln’s ghost has been spotted by many visitors and residents of the white house, among them First Lady Grace Coolidge, Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands, and even Winston Churchill, who of course had something clever to say on the occasion. He claimed to be fresh from the bath, in the nude (what an image!) walking into the bedroom when he saw Lincoln standing near the fireplace. He quipped “Good evening, Mr. President. You seem to have me at a disadvantage.”, after which Lincoln smiled softly and disappeared.

Anne Boleyn
Anne Boleyn 1507 36 Tower Det Hi
Second Wife of Henry VIII and mother of a future Queen Elizabeth I, Anne Boleyn had three years as queen consort before Henry tired of her. Accused (most historians agree falsely) of adultery, incest and witchcraft, she faced an executioner’s sword with her head held high on May 19th, 1536. The executioner was reported to have said “Where is my sword?” before striking the single blow necessary, apparently in an effort to ease Anne’s anticipation by making her think she had a few moments more.
Her ghost has been spotted by several different people in several different locations: Hever Castle, Blickling Hall, Salle Church, Marwell Hall, and perhaps most famously the Tower of London. Though she is most often seen just as she was alive- a beautiful woman in a beautiful gown- some sightings are a bit more upsetting. More unlucky individuals will see her as she was just after death- headless, often with the head tucked under one arm. It has become such an iconic image it is often parodied in movies and television, and more elaborate Halloween costumes. One must not forget, however, what you would think if such a vision approached you in some dark corridor one night.

Top 10 Famous Mummified Bodies

Unsolved Mystery. -A mummy is a corpse whose body has been preserved by either intentional or incidental exposure to chemicals, extreme cold, very low humidity, or lack of air. Mummies of humans and animals have been found throughout the world – both as a result of having been embalmed and because of natural preservation through unusual conditions. Many mummies are thousands of years old and are famous because of the intriguing circumstances of the death or the remarkable preservation of the body. The following are ten of the most fascinating mummies, (mainly because of the story behind them or the incredible preservation of the body) most of which are still viewable today.

Elmer McCurdy
Mccurdy
Elmer McCurdy (January 1880 – October 7th 1911) was an outlaw killed in a gunfight in the Osage Hills in Oklahoma. A newspaper account gave Elmer’s last words as “You’ll never take me alive!” His body was taken to a funeral home in Oklahoma. When no one claimed the corpse, the undertaker embalmed it with an arsenic-based preservative and allowed people to see “The Bandit Who Wouldn’t Give Up” for a nickel, placed in Elmer’s mouth, which the undertaker would collect later. Five years later, a man showed up from a nearby traveling carnival claiming to be Elmer’s long-lost brother wanting to give the corpse a proper burial. Within two weeks, however, Elmer was a featured exhibit with the carnival. For the next 60 years, Elmer’s body was sold to wax museums, carnivals, and haunted houses.
The owner of a haunted house near Mount Rushmore refused to purchase him because he thought that Elmer’s body was actually a mannequin and not lifelike enough. Eventually, the corpse wound up in “The Laff in the Dark” funhouse at the Long Beach Pike amusement park in California. During filming of the The Six Million Dollar Man shot in December 1976, a crew member was moving what was thought to be a wax mannequin that was hanging from a gallows. When the mannequin’s arm broke off, it was discovered that it was in fact the mummified remains of Elmer McCurdy, who was finally buried in the Boot Hill section of the Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, Oklahoma on April 22nd 1977, with 2 cubic yards of concrete over his casket so his remains would never be disturbed again.

Vladimir Lenin
Vladimir-Lenin-Body
Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (10th April 1870 – 21st January 1924) was one of the leading political figures and revolutionary thinkers of the 20th century, who masterminded the Bolshevik take-over of power in Russia in 1917, and was the architect and first head of the USSR. In 1918, he narrowly survived an assassination attempt, but was severely wounded. His long-term health was affected, and in May 1922 he suffered a stroke from which he never fully recovered. In December 1922, he suffered a second stroke that partly paralyzed his right side and caused him to withdraw from active politics. In March 1923, he suffered a third stroke that left him dumb and bed-ridden until he died on 21st of January 1924, aged 53, at his estate in Gorki Leninskiye. His body was embalmed and exhibited in the Lenin Mausoleum, Moscow where it can still be viewed today.

Saint Bernadette
Bernprof-4
Saint Bernadette was born Maria-Bernada Sobirós (7th January 1844 – 16th April 1879) and was a miller’s daughter from the town of Lourdes in southern France. Despite her body not being technically mummified, she definitely deserves a place on this list. From February 11th to July 16th 1858, she reported eighteen apparitions of “a small young lady.” Despite initial skepticism from the Catholic Church, these claims were eventually declared to be worthy of belief after a canonical investigation, and the apparition is known as ‘Our Lady of Lourdes’ – the Virgin Mary. After her death, Bernadette’s body remains incorrupt and can be viewed in the Chapel of Saint Bernadette in Nevers. On December 8th, 1933, she was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church.

Juanita
Gal06
Juanita (“The Ice Maiden”) was discovered on the summit of Mount Ampato, Peru, on September 8th, 1995. She was 12–14 when sacrificed 500 years ago – a great honour for an Incan – they believed the Ampato God supplied water and withheld avalanches in return for human sacrifices. A young girl, boy and the skeleton of a woman were discovered in later expeditions, as were items left as offerings to the gods. The eruption of nearby volcano Mount. Sabancaya melted 500 years of ice and snow encasing Juanita, who was almost entirely frozen – her skin, internal organs, hair, clothing, blood and even the contents of her stomach preserved, offering scientists a rare glimpse into the life of the Incas. Juanita was wearing clothing resembling the finest textiles from Cuzco and was the closest sacrifice to the Inca capital, suggesting she may have come from a noble Cuzco family.
Juanita was chosen as the most beautiful and innocent and would be ‘guaranteed eternal life with the gods’. As the other bodies were further down the mountain, they were not as pure and worthy as Juanita. It took incredible effort (and whole entourages of priests, villagers, provisions, water, as well as symbolic items used in the ritual – all carried on the backs of hundreds of llamas and porters) to hold sacrificial rituals in the thin air and life-threatening cold of Mount Ampato – 20,000 feet high. Juanita was killed by a powerful blow to the head and was probably given chicha, a strong hallucinogenic drink before the ritual was performed. In 1996, President Clinton saw a photo of Juanita and reportedly said, “If I were a single man, I might ask that mummy out. That’s a good-looking mummy!” Juanita is on display at the Museo Santuarios de Altura in Arequipa, Peru.

Ötzi the Iceman
Oetzitheiceman02
Ötzi the Iceman (also known as Similaun Man or Man from Hauslabjoch) is a well-preserved natural mummy of a man from about 3300 BC (53 centuries ago). The mummy was found in September 1991 in the Schnalstal glacier in the Ötztal Alps, near Hauslabjoch, on the border between Austria and Italy. The nickname comes from Ötztal, the region in which he was discovered. He is Europe’s oldest natural human mummy, and has offered an unprecedented view of Chalcolithic (Copper Age) Europeans. The cause of death was most likely a blow to the head. The body and his belongings are displayed in the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology in Bolzano, northern Italy.

Ginger
800Px-Bm-Ginger
‘Ginger’ is the nickname given to the naturally preserved body of an adult man (believed to be the earliest known ancient Egyptian “mummified” body), who despite having died more than 5,000 years ago, had perfectly preserved golden hair, and even toe and fingernails. Ginger was found in at Gebelein, Egypt, and dates to the Late Predynastic period, around 3400 BC, or earlier. Before mummification was developed, human remains were placed in shallow graves, in direct contact with the hot, dry sand, which absorbed the water that constitutes 75% of the human weight. Without moisture, bacteria cannot breed and cause decay, and the body is preserved. However, it is uncertain whether Ginger’s mummification was intentional or not, though since Ginger was buried with some pottery vessels it is likely that the mummification was a result of preservation techniques of those burying him. Ginger is currently on display in the British Museum.

Tollund Man
T058832A-1
Tollund Man is the naturally mummified corpse of a man (a ‘bog body’) who lived during the 4th century BC during the Pre-Roman Iron Age. He was found in May 1950, buried in a peat bog on the Jutland Peninsula in Denmark, which preserved his body. The head and face were so well-preserved that at the time he was mistaken for a recent murder victim, however, he was later found to have died over 1,500 years ago. Autopsies have shown that the cause of death was hanging – the rope left visible furrows in the skin beneath his chin and at the sides of his neck, however, there was no mark at the back of the neck where the knot of the noose would have been located. The body is displayed at the Silkeborg Museum in Denmark, though only the head is original, and is attached to a replica of the body.

Rosalia Lombardo
Screen Shot 2009-12-22 At 6.37.39 Pm
Rosalia Lombardo was an Italian child born in 1918 in Palermo, Sicily. She died on December 6th 1920 of pneumonia. Rosalia’s father was so sorely grieved upon her death that he approached Dr. Alfredo Salafia, a noted embalmer and taxidermist, to preserve her. She was one of the last corpses to be admitted to the Capuchin catacombs of Palermo, Sicily and one of the most well-known. Her preservation is such that it appears as if she were only sleeping, hence receiving the nickname “Sleeping Beauty”. She is considered one of the world’s best-preserved bodies and it is hard to believe she died nearly 90 years ago. For many years, the formula that preserved her so magnificently was a mystery, but it has recently been discovered that she was injected with a mixture of formalin, zinc salts, alcohol, salicylic acid, and glycerin.
Formalin, now widely used by embalmers, is a mixture of formaldehyde and water that kills bacteria. Dr. Salafia was one of the first to use this for embalming bodies. Alcohol, along with the arid conditions in the catacombs, would have dried Rosalia’s body and allowed it to mummify. Glycerin would have kept her body from drying out too much, and salicylic acid would have prevented the growth of fungi. According to Melissa Williams, executive director of the American Society of Embalmers, it was the zinc salts that were most responsible for Rosalia’s amazing state of preservation. Zinc, which is no longer used by embalmers in the United States, petrified Rosalia’s body. “[Zinc] gave her rigidity. You could take her out of the casket, prop her up, and she would stand by herself.”

King Tutankhamun
 22973 Tutankhamun
Tutankhamun (approximately 1341 BC – 1323 BC) was an Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty during the period of Egyptian history known as the New Kingdom. Tutankhamun was 9 years old when he became pharaoh and reigned for approximately 10 years, until his death. Tutankhamun’s tomb in the Valley of the Kings (where he still resides) was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922 almost completely intact — the most complete ancient Egyptian royal tomb ever found. Eternal life was the main focus of all Ancient Egyptians, which meant preserving the body forever. Egyptians mummified bodies because they believed in an afterlife. Believing that the afterlife was much like life in this world they had to preserve their bodies so they would be able to use them after they die. Egyptian culture believed the body was home in the afterlife to a person’s Ka, Ba and Akh, without which it would be condemned to eternal wandering.
The Ka was a less solid duplicate of the body. Without a physical body, the soul had no place to dwell and became restless forever. The Ba was able to leave the tomb and revisit the dead person’s haunts in the mortal world. The Akh was the immortal soul that emerged when the Ka and the Ba united after the deceased person passed judgement. The mummification process lasted for a period of 70 days, applied to all classes of Egyptians – rich or poor. The 70-day mummification process was as follows: 15 days spent on cleansing and purification, 40 day drying period and 15 days wrapping and bandaging. Tutankhamun has become one of the most famous Egyptian mummies, his death mask becoming one of the most iconic images of the world today. The cause of Tutankhamun’s death is unclear and is still the root of much speculation.

Lady Dai (Xin Zhui)
Chinesemummyladydai
In 1971 workers in China digging an air raid shelter near the city of Changsha uncovered an enormous Han Dynasty-era tomb containing over 1,000 well-preserved artefacts, as well as “the most perfectly preserved corpse ever found”. The tomb belonged to Xin Zhui, wife of the Marquis of Han who died between 178–145 BC, around 50 years of age. Her body is so well preserved that when found it was autopsied as if recently dead and her skin was supple, limbs could be manipulated; hair and internal organs were intact; remains of her last meal were found in her stomach and type A blood still ran red in her veins. Examinations have revealed that she suffered from parasites, lower back pain, clogged arteries, had a massively damaged heart (an indication of heart disease brought on by obesity, lack of exercise and an overly rich diet) and was overweight at the time of her death.
The ‘mystery of Lady Dai’ has not yet been solved. Scientists believe contributing to her remarkable preservation was the 22 dresses of silk and hemp and 9 silk ribbons she was tightly wrapped in. Clothes filled the coffin, which was perfectly sealed, keeping air out. There were inner and outer tombs, which were more than 50 feet below the earth as well as the four coffins she was buried in, each inside the other. However, some scientists suspect the real key to her preservation lies in the mysterious unidentified reddish liquid found in the coffin she was discovered in. To intensify the mystery, two other tombs containing bodies in a similar state of preservation have been found close to Lady Dai – Sui Xiaoyuan and Ling Huiping. Her 2,000-year-old body is currently housed in the Hunan Provincial Museum.
Bonus
Ancient Pompeiians
Plaster Cast-Pompeii
One of the morbidly fascinating results of the 79 A.D. eruption of Vesuvius is the number of holes found in the volcanic deposits around Pompeii, representing the corpses of people and animals killed by the pyroclastic flow and buried by the hot ash. The ash solidified before the corpses decayed so a mould of Vesuvius’s victims remained. Early in the excavation, Giuseppe Fiorelli discovered that filling these moulds with plaster resulted in highly accurate and eerie forms of the doomed who failed to escape, their last moment of life captured forever, the expression of terror often clearly visible. It is impossible to imagine the sheer terror these poor unfortunate souls must have gone through. This is a bonus because there is no single ‘famous’ mummified body, but an entire city frozen in time. The majority of plaster casts are situated around Pompeii and in the Archaeological Museum of Naples.
